Hamilton Topography

I wanted to make some artwork to sell at Hamilton's monthy Art Crawl, so I created the below map of elevation and bathymetry around Hamilton, ON. I haven't had a chance to display it at the event, so here it is online! If you'd like a higher resolution version for printing go to the Contact Me page in the top navigation and drop me a message.

It was interesting trying to find high resolution bathymetry and elevation data that were taken near the same time. This was important since the water level of Lake Ontario can change dramatically throughout the seasons and years. Once the data was found, it needed to be transformed into a polygon format so that I could symbolize to give a simplified sense of height and depth. Finally, I had a lot of fun designing a layout that could be informative and pleasing to the eye. I hope you like it!
